LLM and GGM learn to flip the bird

Yesterday we were driving home from piano lessons and were on the on-ramp to the freeway. I guess I didn't merge just right and the woman beside me sped past and flipped me the bird. I was taken aback because I seriously think I'm a pretty safe and mellow driver, especially given that GGM gets car sick and I have to drive like a snow bird. Anyway, I was shocked and said something like "Oh my gosh, that woman flipped me off!!" The girls were all, "what does flipped you off mean?" So I had to explain to them how some people get mad and make the fingers do something that tells you that they are mad at you. They seems satisfied with that explanation.

Later that evening we were driving in the car with PSM and LLM told him that some woman made her fingers do something that told Mommy that she didn't like the way she was driving. He thought that was funny. Then the girls wanted to know how to flip someone off. So I showed them. They thought that was funny too. It won't be so funny when they teach their friends at preschool how to flip each other off.

The funniest part was when we were getting the girls ready for bed, and they were tired from a long day and a late night followed by ice cream. Suddenly GGM starts crying to PSM for no reason. He asked her what is wrong. She said (as she flips him off), "when that woman did her fingers like this it made me sad!!!!" So funny!
